Frank Barlage * abt 1793, Germany + after 1850, United States oo, Catherine
There is limited information known about Frank Barlage. The names of his children were noted in the 1850 US Census (see below under Martin). There is a Frank Barlage in the 1850 and 1851/2 Cincinnati City Directories, which are presumably our Frank Barlage. He is listed as a laborer which does not provide much insight to his profession. Another Francis Barlage is listed in the 1850 Census (married to Mary, children Joseph, Henry, Clements)
Frank and Catherine had at least 3 children
- Bernard (abt 1820/26 – 1852); married Maria Hackman and witnessed Martin’s first marriage
- Martin (abt 1830 – 1884)
- Elizabeth (abt 1839 – unk)
Cincinnati Archives of the Chancery: do not have a death record for Frank Barlage at Holy Trinity Church. Marriage records and a death record for his son Bernard were found at Holy Trinity in 1851 and 1852 respectively.
1850 Census: Note that the Barlage Family lived next door to Lambert Bricking Family. Martin Barlage and Lambert Bricking’s children, Henry and Mary Catherine would later marry in 1877.
